Visitations - Designed to promote camaraderie and to learn how other chapters conduct projects and run their meetings. Other chapters are welcome to attend York Jaycee General Membership meetings or projects at any time.
Regional / District Meetings - These meetings are held quarterly and are sponsored by one of the Pennsylvania local chapters. Individual competitions, reviews of local chapters and an exchange of ideas for fundraisers and chapter activities are some of the many things discussed at these meetings. Quarterly winners of the individual competitions will compete at year-end for the chance to advance to the National competition. Individual awards can be in the following areas:
- Jaycee Jeopardy - Similar to the Jeopardy game show, this category is a trivia based competition. There is a 30-minute exam with 25 questions and one tiebreaker question. Questions will be formulated using material from The Jaycee Book, Jaycees Magazine, A Legacy of Leadership (75th Anniversary history book by John Clark) and PA Jaycee publications.
- Write-Up - Competitors choose their favorite line of the Jaycee Creed and write a 500-word essay about it. ("We Believe" is not considered a line).
- Speak-Up Novice - This competition is for members who would not normally talk before groups or give presentations to their peers (e.g., teachers, sales professionals, managers, disk jockeys, etc). Again, a favorite line of the Jaycee Creed is chosen and a 2-1/2 to 3 minute speech is presented.
- Speak-Up Regular - Like the novice competition, a speech is to be presented on a line of the Jaycee Creed. The regular competition is open to members regardless of profession, and will be a 4-1/2 to 5 minute speech.
- Master's Speak-Up - This is the same competition as Speak-Up Regular, but is open to Chapter Presidents and State Officers (except the State President). There are some additional eligibility restrictions.
