The Arc of York County2nd Quarter Project: Camp Pennwood

The 2nd quarter community project of the York Jaycees will be to support The Arc of York County with their Camp Pennwood Project. The Arc of York County is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with mental retardation and other disabilities and their families. Over 60 Campers between the ages of 6 and 17 attend Camp Pennwood. With staff and volunteer assistance, kids enjoy arts and crafts, swimming, archery, and other fun-filled activities. Visit the website of The Arc of York County External link to learn more about this organization and how they are dedicated to improving the lives of people with mental retardation and other disabilities and their families

The York Jaycees will be participating in a community building activity on June 19, 2004 at Camp Pennwood. We will be repairing picnic tables and installing a new sign at Camp Pennwood. The tables will need to be sanded down and either painted or stained. The sign will be installed in concrete. Extra sanders are needed to make the job easier. The ARC of York County will provide all other supplies. This activity is tentatively scheduled for mid-morning.
